No. Just....no.
2007-04-11 ~ 10:38 a.m.

So, my company has slowly been sending people home to do the telecommuting thing. Those who work from home are collectively called the "Virtual Workforce." There are very few people actually left still in the building.

Also, my company has always done the Take Your Kids to Work Day thing.

Anyway, this just came out

Take Your Kids To Work Day

Exciting news! Our annual Take Your Kids to Work Day is ascending to new horizons! Take Your Kid to Work Day is going virtual. We've assembled dozens of awesome activities your son/daughter may complete from home as a Virtual Team Member. We hope your child will enjoy the [company name] virtual experience right along with you.

This year's theme is "Revolutionizing the Workplace," a great tie-in with [company name]'s innovative Virtual Team! Each participating child will receive activities and souvenirs neatly packaged in their own duffel bag. Kids are encouraged to participate in contests for great prizes! The contests will be geared toward age-appropriate activities. Well select a grand prize winner and runners-up in each age category.

Packets are limited, so we'll need you to complete and return the 2007 Take Your Kid to Work Registration Form as soon as possible before supplies run out! Click Here to access a Registration Form you can print or complete online. Once completed, forms should be emailed, faxed or returned to Tina ***** in Human Resources. Sign-up is limited to children/legal dependents between the ages of 8 13 of [company name] and subsidiary company employees. The registration deadline is Monday, April 16.

Participants should be eight years old by Monday, April 15. Kids will have from Monday, April 23 until Monday, April 30 to complete the virtual exercises and enter the contests. Participation in this event will be during team members regularly scheduled time off. Please utilize current childcare arrangements during your scheduled shift. Were sure that the week-long span of this event will be sufficient to allow parents time during their regularly scheduled time off to discuss the event packets contents with their children and to introduce them to the world of work!

Um? Ummmmmmmm? So basically, this is Let Your Kids Stay Home From School for a Day Day, right?
